Welcome to my new blog, Lemons & Roses, a space for writing and photography. I’m a writer, and as much as I love writing, I let it slide in my life all the time. My kids, my husband, my dog, the laundry covering the dining room table, everything comes before my writing. And that’s not good, to be a writer and not write. To be a writer, and hopefully a good one, I need to show up and write regularly. So I created this blog to force myself to show up.
I write about things that trouble me, I write to understand, to learn, to share. I write about my kids, about food, about gardening, about grief. I write to connect. I chose the name Lemons & Roses because they are two of my favorite things, but more importantly because they both force you to engage your senses, and I strive to be a writer who engages all of my senses through all the pleasure and heartache in our lives.
In addition to words I use my camera to explore the world; I’m no professional, but I love taking photos of wonderful things like my kids,
our crazy garden,
and food, oh delicious food and drinks!
So you’ll see a lot of photos here too. I hope you’ll enjoy my words and photos, and I’d love to hear from you!

Sara, Congratulations! I’m looking forward to keeping up with your blog! Is there a way to subscribe?

Hi Pat! Yes, you should be able to click on the little RSS feed button, which is the third button underneath my profile picture. It’s right next to the Pinterest button. That should subscribe you to the blog so that when I put a new post up, it sends you an email. I’m still ironing out all the wrinkles, so let me know if that doesn’t work. Hope you are well!!
